7th International Safer Internet Forum and Russia-China ICT Development & Security Forum to come to Moscow this April

On April 27, 2016 the Rossiya Segodnya International News Agency will be hosting the 7th International Safer Internet Forum. The main organiser of the event is the Safe Internet League. Its key subject will be ensuring the safety and stability of the Internet in Russia and worldwide.

The conference welcomes industry experts, civil servants, officials from the relevant government ministries and departments, leading Russian and Chinese experts, and NGOs. The Forum will feature a dedicated workshop on import substitution.

An important part of the event will be the first ever Russia-China informational forum which will be hosting Director of Cyberspace Administration of China and member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee Lu Wei.

«You may recall us organising some cyber war-games. These exposed the vulnerability of the Russian Internet sector. Our Chinese colleagues have a lot of experience in these matters. The last two years showed that international sanctions are not a fiction of a bluff — we saw for ourselves that they are effective and sometimes can make software used by banks and government agencies to fail. This means that ensuring the stability of the Internet in Russia is a matter of national security. I hope that our Chinese colleagues’ experience in protecting their information space will prove useful for us,» explained Safe Internet League Chairman of the Board Denis Davydov.
